Automobiles in German City Discovered Marked with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Authorities mentioned they were contacted by a man who found a car in Hanau covered with red-colored fluid

Around fifty cars have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Cars, building surfaces and postboxes were vandalized, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a statement.

Police report they were contacted late on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been covered with a reddish-hued substance.

The liquid had been applied in the form of a Nazi symbol, they stated.

Police then discovered many other smeared vehicles and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.

Swastikas are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi symbols.

Police say initial examinations suggest the fluid was probably human bodily fluid.

"There is still no clue as to its source; authorities are not yet aware of any physical harm in connection with the occurrence," they stated.

City officials stated they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the residents for details.

A high-ranking political figure stated the incident made him speechless and needed to be addressed rapidly.

"This event affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the far-right attack half a decade ago," he stated on social media, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter targeting individuals of foreign heritage in February 2020.
